Take a deep breath

Bruce Schneier is a very smart man. He is one of the people who wrote some of the basic security features of the internet. These days, he is an expert on security and security related technology. He had an interesting blog post yesterday. It says in part:

I'd like everyone to take a deep breath and listen for a minute.

The point of terrorism is to cause terror, sometimes to further a political goal and sometimes out of sheer hatred. The people terrorists kill are not the targets; they are collateral damage. And blowing up planes, trains, markets or buses is not the goal; those are just tactics. The real targets of terrorism are the rest of us: the billions of us who are not killed but are terrorized because of the killing. The real point of terrorism is not the act itself, but our reaction to the act.

26 weeks and growing

Ok everyone!  I can attest that I really do look better than the pic below.  However, I realize just how much bigger I am getting once I am on film.  Uggh!

I feel absolutley great, but very hot these days.  I had my check up with my doctor on Tuesday ( the day of the pic below ) and he said I was doing everything right and I was progressing just fine.  He said my weight gain of 12.5 pounds was perfect and my blood pressure of 110/80 was ideal.  I was am so surprised each time I weigh in because I feel as big as a house!  I am getting tired of work, though.  At the end of each 12 hr shift, I am very swollen and very uncomfortable.  Overall, I am so pleased at how pleasant this pregnancy has been thus far.  I am aware and also prepared for the third trimester though.

I definitley have missed my massages.  After my doctor's visit on Tues., I went and got a pregnancy massage.  It was absolute heaven.  I had forgotten how tired your muscles get.  I always come home and thank Will for allowing me to get these massages.  Have I mentioned how wonderful my husband is?!

Start of School

The Abilene ISD starts school tomorrow. That reminds me to wish all my nieces and nephews and friends who are in school to have a good year! Especially Wyatt, who starts the first grade.

I can't believe this time next year we will have a ten-month-old baby. Cilla and I went to a church dinner (from a whole different church, long story) on Saturday night. In attendance were a six-week-old boy, twin four-month-old boys, a two year old, and about 10 kids older than two years. It was interesting to see each of the stages we'll be entering in the next few years.

We also talked to a woman in our small-group from church who mentioned she signed her three-year-old up for pre-preschool when he was in the womb. Apparently there is a really good pre-preschool here in Abilene. This adds another thing I need to do in addition to Life Insurance, a will for me and Cilla (know any good lawyers in Abilene?), and a college fund.

Cilla is doing fine. Happy times.

Ugh

I came home from work today (yes, on a Saturday. Some things can only be done after hours). I came home to find the air-conditioner broken. It is hot. Now I know how all the folk in the northeast feel.

Cilla and I are hot, but hanging in there. Ask me tomorrow and I might feel differently. :)

Blessings

Speaking of blessings,  I am so incredibally blessed everyday to have Will in my life.  He has been so wonderful through all of this and I realized (again),  last night as I said my prayers, I simply could not and would not want to go through this with out him.  He is absolutley selfless, 100% interested and a part of this, and I love him more and more each day!  It may be the hormones, but if it is, they have us both elated!

As I take a long look at all of our blessings,  financial, health, family, and relationships,  I feel so unworthy yet humbled.  I am so excited for Carter to be a part of our family and though scared, I can't wait  for him to enter in and change our lives forever!
