Datediff?

Harley the wonder-dog

He has a collar instead of a cape. They shaved a quarter of his body, his whole left back side. Cilla won't let me shave the front right side :)

Good News Yesterday

Yesterday was our last HCG that was drawn and I think I'm still definitely pregnant! The number was 3717 which is very good at this stage in the game. It just needs to be over 1000 and seems to double every 48 hrs. My progesterone, more importantly, is also doing well. It was 468. I'm not sure what the magic number for this is but I do know that we want it higher than 20 or so.
So, I am doing great. I feel so good, it kind of worried me yesterday morning before my test results were back. Most people are supposed to be nauseous and throwing up about now. But, I have a strange feeling the worst hasn't hit yet. I'm just adjusting to a new way of eating to accommodate my new found GI friends, bloating and indigestion. I definitely can't eat near as much food as I use to in one sitting. Whatever I start with on my plate, I usually half it and only eat that and take the rest home. The upside is that I get two meals in one!
I feel great, am doing great, and yes, we are still on top of the world!

Gift from Jake

Our five year old nephew Jake came to visit us this week. Jake is a very kind, caring boy. Katy and Chris should be proud of the job they've done so far.

He heard we are going to have a baby so he wanted to get something for 'Aunt Cilla's baby'.

First gift

Cilla's friend Julie gave us our first baby gift. She gave us a cookie bouquet. They are really really good cookies. My cousin Mat works at the corporate office so buy a bouquet so he can get a raise :)

Jake and Harley

Some of my family is coming to visit Cilla and me later this week. My five-year-old nephew Jake is coming along as well.
As far as Jake is concerned, my dog Harley hung the moon. Jake and Harley get along very well.

I understand that Jake has been looking forward to seeing Harley in Abilene for a few weeks.
Unfortunately, Harley blew out one of his knees last night and will be at the vet's until Monday. So Jake and Harley won't get to play together. I feel terrible. I hope a five-year-old understands Harley had an accident and would much rather be with Jake than in a cage at the vet. So Cilla and I get to look forward to six weeks of this.

Positive

As Cilla's post said, we got a positive result on our first pregnancy test. What fantastic news this is. I think we're still getting used to the idea of being pregnant.

We left for Lubbock early this morning (March 20th). This weather this morning was beautiful. The air was crystal clear. We've had a few days of rain in Texas which cleared out all the dust in the air. I'd bet the visibility was 50 miles. The view east from the caprock at Post, Texas, was amazing. We heard a song on XM from a band called 'The The' called 'This is the Day' that has line in the chorus that says 'This is the day... Your life will surely change'. This seemed to be a nice omen for what was to come. Cilla and I got a bit more nervous as we got closer to Lubbock.

We got to the doctor's office 2 minutes late, the first time we've ever been late to an appointment with this Doctor. We got even more nervous as we sat in the waiting room for a few minutes. Finally we were called back for Cilla to have her blood drawn for the pregnancy test. We anticipated the test would take 5 minutes or so. The nurse told us the results would be ready in an hour or two. Disappointed, we went to lunch.

We ate a good lunch at McAlisters. Cilla didn't get sick this time although we were both nervous enough to be nauseous. We hadn't heard from the doctor's office so we drove around Lubbock looking for an outlet store. We had the address but couldn't find the store. We finally decided to give up our search and just as we were pulling into Linens & Things we got our good news from the doctor's office. We ended up waiting about three hours for the call from the doctor.

The weather in the afternoon was very different from the morning. A dust storm blew up in the early afternoon so we drove back under a brown sky. At times the dust was blowing over the road, almost like a thick fog. In Texas, a very dusty day can sometimes create a little rain since the dust will ‘seed' rain to fall out of clouds. Cilla and I saw a very faint rainbow at the end of the drive back to Abilene. The rainbow was a wonderful visual reminder of God's promises. I know God's promise to ‘Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life' is very different from our situation. But his promise ‘Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart' seems to be coming to fruition.

We're obviously very happy. The day was tiring because of the anticipation. We know not all pregnancies carry through the first trimester, but we have no reason to believe this pregnancy will be anything but perfect. I already feel myself falling into ‘protective' mode. I feel myself thinking things like ‘did Cilla put salt on her food?' or ‘should Cilla be lifting that'. We'll see in a few weeks or months if I'm grating on Cilla's last nerve.

Cilla and I appreciate and are humbled by your prayers and concerns. Thank you for being with us as we begin this exciting time in our lives.

P.S. Our faithful Ford Explorer turned 100,000 miles on this trip. Kinda cool. We bought that car with 28,000 miles more than 6 years ago. It is still running strong.

The Results Are In

Well, today was THE big day. After 1 year and 3 mos. of treatment in Lubbock, we found out today that WE ARE PREGNANT! All of my hormone levels are great and we are more excited than ever! It has been a long and exhausting day! What a relief to finally know one way or the other. We also just found out tonight that our expected due date is November 25th- Gulp! So, that means today I am 4 weeks and 2 days! Yea! We want to sincerely thank everyone who has been reading this and praying for us. We greatly appreciate your concern and devotion. God IS faithful and I know that He heard each and every prayer.

waiting and new features

Cilla and I are patiently waiting for Monday when we go back to Lubbock for our test. Our collective fingers are still crossed. Cilla seems to be doing fine, except she want to eat pickles all the time. I added a new feature to the website. You should see a random image on the right side menu. The pictures link to our Family Gallery. If you are a family member or close friend to the Wyatt's I'll be happy to create a gallery for you if you want an online place to store your pictures. Flickr may have more features, but I'm free :) Just let me know.

Implantation images

This is a picture of the sonogram that was taken just after the implantation. The white arrow is pointing to the white object which is the embryo. Around the embryo you can just make out a lighter colored ring which is the endometrial space. The embryo is supposed to be right in the center of the space, which it is. So this picture shows the embryo was implanted in just the right spot.

You can see a slightly different view here.
